Our client is a niche player in the world of food processing technologies specializing in the design and manufacturing of high-tech portioning, weighing, grading and control systems for the food processing industry. Their headquarters are based in Belgium with a global distributor network.

The company is currently investing in a new North American branch to further drive and support our sales and service in the region.

What are they looking for?

The company is dedicated to grow their US operation in the next three years and build a solid team with sales and support staff to service our local clients. To execute this North American strategy, our client is hiring a Regional Sales Manager for the south west region of USA. Due to the start-up nature of this position, the goal is to find an experienced professional who has strong business development characteristics needed to get the brand and propositions on the table of major clients in the territory.

Responsibilities
  • As our Regional Sales Manager you will develop the short- and long-term sales and marketing strategy for your territory based on your market knowledge and in line with our global business goals. 
  • You translate this plan into specific and ambitious sales and action plans for each product group and each sales area.
  • You define the objectives and budgets and assure a systematic follow up and reporting.
  • You have a key role in analyzing the market, potential customers and competitors.
  • In consultation with our General Manager Marelec North America you can define your price strategy.
  • You employ an integrated and structured approach of our sales strategy and actions.
  • You are very proactive in your search for new customers and operate as the key account manager for some of our most important clients.
  • You develop our marketing strategy and generate new leads by multiple channels such as trade shows, conferences, websites, social media
  • Due to your contacts and knowledge of our customer’s needs, your input shall be important for our R&D strategy and team.  
  • You report directly to our General Manager Marelec North America.

Requirements
  • You are an experienced sales/sales development manager in the food processing industry.
  • You feel comfortable in a startup phase of company and technical sales environment and have advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the products you are selling.
  • You can show a proven track record as an excellent sales professional and networker.
  • You know how to motivate and influence people thanks to your experience, knowledge and your strong social skills.  
  • You are used to travel around 75% of your time in North America (and are prepared to travel to Europe when needed).
